Richard has been with Stirling Ackroyd for two years having initially joined the business as a part time worker in January 2022, we quickly identified his promise and ability and he was offered a full time position in May of that year. Richard was promoted to an Area Surveyor in October 2023 having impressed both Ryan throughout the interview process.
Richards brings to the role a wide range of experiences within the Surveying industry and has a key focus on residential and finance workflow. He has previously held positions that include Head of Valuations & Chief Surveyor for the Leeds and Holbeck Building Society, Managing Director of Hockleys Surveyors and a member of the senior management team at e.surv as Change Program Manager.
Richard has remained grounded in grass roots surveying, continually carrying-out Mortgage valuations and Level 2 surveys and continues to expand the skillset of his team through training of HMO, GDV and RICS Red Book valuations. Richard is commercially minded and was instrumental in the onboarding and day to day management of Think Property.
Richard was promoted to Head of Quality Assurance in early 2025.
Richard provides practical, hands-on mentoring to his surveying team, focusing on those who it is felt would most benefit. The feedback that we receive from the mentees has been exceptional. The observations that Richard can offer, and the resulting efficiencies have been demonstrated on numerous occasions. Richard has settled into his new role well as he continually leads from the front and demonstrates what good looks like.
