Dean joined the group in April 2021 bringing to the business an exceptional level of experience, commercial insight and industry knowledge. Previously, Dean was the Managing Director and Commercial Director of Gateway Surveyors (formerly Sonas Surveyors) from 2006 – 2020. Prior to this Dean was National Operations Director for BBG surveyors and Securemove property services, running a team of around 250 surveyors nationally.
Dean’s previous role saw him responsible for all matters relating to the recording, managing and resolution of Professional Indemnity claims. This included liaising with complainants, attending and reviewing reinspection’s, meeting and communicating with brokers, to help ensure a satisfactory resolution of any complaints and claims. Dean has also successfully resolved 2 cases that went to arbitration.
Within his previous role Dean wrote and trained out the complaints handling procedures, quality management and best practice procedures to help reduce errors and improve quality. He also initiated the high value sign off procedures and auditing of comparables and reports before jobs were signed off, this helped reduce levels of valuation claims during his tenure.
Dean’s has assisted the business with the winning of new business contracts and enhanced market insight with Dean sitting on several specialist industry boards. He is currently responsible for the day-to-day management of around 50% of the current surveying headcount, his responsibilities include assistance with PVQ’s, HVA’s as well as general day to day assistance. Dean is proud that he has never personally have never had a claim in all his years practicing.
